Candomblé is a spiritual tradition of Brazil with roots in Africa. The main purpose of Candomblé is to ensure a constant exchange between human beings and the gods named Orishás. Through this exchange men and women experience inner and outer harmony with all forces of nature. The highest goal of all human beings is to reach Iwá Pele, meaning to develop a good character. To have a good character implies to be in harmony with destiny. Dances, offerings, prayers, food and constant communication with the Orishás lead to Iwá Pele.
